Matters of the HeartNew Year
Susan Miller

Once again another new year is here. Funny how it rolls around every twelve months! For me, it’s a time to start over, set

What really matters to me, when I get beyond all the things that are beyond my control and are just wishful thinking, are the matters of my heart: making more memories with my children and grandchildren and taking more time for the cherished relationships in my life. These are the things that I can intentionally choose to do that will make a difference in my life, the lives of those I love, and in this New Year. new goals, try new things and make new resolutions.

God knows our heart. He knows the desires of our heart. May we never lose sight of His ability to change us–our thinking, our habits, our actions, our attitudes, our words.

Think about the choices you will make for the New Year that will bring new meaning and change to your life–matters of the heart. And may the Lord direct your heart into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ. – 2 Thessalonians 3:5

A New Year’s Prayer
Author Unknown
In this new year that you’ve given to me,
Help me to be exactly what you want me to be.
Help me to not run ahead or fall behind,
But serve you faithfully in soul, body, and mind.

I know that you’ll be there to lead and direct,
And help me to follow and do what is correct.
And when I’ve done all that it seems I can do,
Help me to rest and leave the results up to you.
Amen

Scripture To Remember
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
